So I didn't really know how best to put it and seemed fond of the idea of a boy's love for the sea. So we have a little guy in his make sift boat with a conch shell stuffed with chocolates and a rose and adorned with a candy necklace as a gift for his love as he sets off to greet her. Quite an adventure indeed. Mostly I wanted something that I could practice my painting and coloring skill on. I still need a lot of practice as far as I'm concerned but this was a pretty spectacular outcome for me.
You can see this piece featured on Creative Juices since it was created for the latest What the Doodle. Hope you all enjoy it and check out the other entries for this WTD, they're all really great.

Chuck Redux
I found this fantastic blog about Chuck Jones called Chuck Redux via Cartoon Brew. And really there's not an animator out there who can hide their love for him no matter how hard they try! Chuck Jones was and still is, in my opinion, the best storyteller and most imaginative and talented animator in the business. And this blog has done nothing but embolden my love for his work, but more importantly for the writings of Chuck Jones as well. I was so delighted to look at his writing style from his letters to his daughter Linda which is unsurprisingly as entertaining as his art. Not to mention all of the other video goodies of his animated work.
I'll leave you with another fantastic piece by Chuck Jones that's a little more familiar.

Griffin

And this is the coolest thing I've made in Flash thus far. I always loved griffins because they represent to me, strength/courage and wisdom/learning, the eagle and the lion. But I've always thought that Ravens are a much better representation of wisdom and intelligence than Eagles. Ravens and Crows may be scavengers but they are wicked smart. And I have a special fondness for Ravens through Irish myths. So that's why this griffin looks strange from your average griffin. Plus flying on the back of a griffin would be AMAZING!
This is was done for the next segment of Creative Juices. Which is the not so secret blog that we at work add art to for fun. So this week's random word was "Vehicle." Enjoy!

Imaginative Liquids
Publicity

Well one of the cool things about this new internship is that the workers here have a blog (which is secret...kinda) where they talk about things art related or just things that are cool online and also have little art jams where a random word is picked and everyone is invited to draw whatever that word creates in their imagination. My 1st opportunity to do so was on a the word "publicity." Which is the image above. This was my first attempt at creating illustrations in flash. This piece taught me I don't have any idea of how to use color ^^;
So more practice shall ensue... the next word is "vehicle."

I made this as an example of how to use a program designed here at Fable Vision called Animationish. It's a program designed to help kids get into digital animation. It works a little like flash, just a bit more basic with a MUCH more fun interface! (Sorry the Qucktime may not work properly.)

Well now I'm in Boston interning at Fable Vision Studios. It's really great here. A lot different than Radical Axis but similar in some respects. I'm having a lot of fun and being very productive as well as getting some work done that I think I can put on this here blog! So keep an eye out for new artwork. Gasp! I never put artwork on here any more. >.>
